Weekly Volunteer Opportunities

Tuesday evenings (during the school year):

Every Tuesday from 6:00-7:00PM After-school homework, reading & mentoring for K-12 students.

Thursday Evenings:

• 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month: STEM Activities from 5:30-6:45. Come assist and participate in these activities with our students.

• 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month: Sports Outreach leads devotions, sports, and games for our students. Come assist and participate in these activities with our students.

Summer Camp Seasonal Teacher ~ three weeks part-time

LHCC is seeking an energetic, experienced, and certified school teacher to join our summer camp team as an Educator who brings learning to life. This three‑week part-time camp experience is ideal for a passionate classroom professional who enjoys mentoring high school interns while helping them design and lead fun, meaningful learning experiences for elementary students. 

Camp activities may include verbal mastery games (debates, storytelling challenges, spoken‑word expression), trivia‑style competitions that build curiosity and teamwork, emotional intelligence and leadership labs, problem‑solving quests, collaborative design challenges, confidence‑building role‑play, creative communication games, and movement‑based learning that blends thinking and play. 

We are looking for an educator with prior teaching experience, strong classroom management skills, and a deep understanding of child development who can model engaging instruction, coach interns, and foster a joyful, inclusive learning environment. If you believe education should extend beyond worksheets into curiosity, connection, creativity, and real‑world skills, and you love bringing positive energy to a group, this summer camp is the perfect place to make an impact.

• Tutoring and mentoring either on Tuesday or Thursday evenings or summer camp

• Programming in Spanish to assist parents with ESL

• Photo and videography projects as needed that tell stories and showcase families

• Fine arts; crafts, music and dance during summer day camps & CMS teacher Workdays

• Marketing and social media special projects for college undergrads

• Board participation following volunteer engagement and orientation

• Health and wellness during our Thursday FITness project for kids or parents
