Please join me in welcoming Rebeca Perez Bernal as our new staff member in the capacity as our LHCC Volunteer Coordinator.
Some of you have already met Rebeca at our Tuesday evening afterschool homework support & Thursday Connect Hub programs. Rebeca served as an intern at our recent summer camp.
Rebeca is a graduate of Bowdoin College, Brunswick, ME where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. She has previously worked as a Welcome Center Intern at the Latin American Coalition and at International House as an Community Events intern. Her roles have included assisting immigrants with acclimation to the city through applications for jobs and housing, as well as translation services and supporting families with access to resources across the Charlotte area.
Rebeca’s family hails from Mexico and she loves helping immigrant families and their children. Her role with us will include connecting volunteers to our students and assisting in providing volunteer feedback to the parents of our students. Welcome to our ministry Rebeca! You can reach Rebeca at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please expect a call or text from Rebeca as we continue to evaluate the strength of our student interactions, collect and connect the dots, so that our students receive the help they need with life during a pandemic, remote learning, and everything in between.
Lastly, our latest blogpost addresses our new Thursday Connect Hub
Thanks for all you do for our families
