Current Volunteer Opportunities
We provide a fun way to build sustainable relationships with students, and their families, while providing learning capabilities critical to their academic growth. In addition, we have volunteer opportunities that fit with your schedule, after-hours, on Saturdays, and during the summer months. You can make an impact, one child at a time, if you can help for just an hour a week.

Weekly After-school Homework & Reading Support
We seek adult and high-school volunteers on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings. This program takes place at one of our three church partner locations in south-west or east Charlotte.
This is your weekly opportunity to serve in a comfortable child-friendly environment, and participate as an individual or group! View a short video (password = silent) to learn about the positive impact you or your group can have as serving volunteers, at one of our learning centers during the CMS school year. See what our volunteers have to say about their recent volunteer experiences.
After-School Enrichment Weekly Schedule
After-school & Homework and Reading Support Program benefits children for the 2018/9 CMS school year. Our weekly children’s program is directed at marginalized at-risk children at a location near you. Elementary school children are from Title 1 schools and are typically one or two grade levels behind on reading and math. The programs include character development, devotions, and volunteer assistance with homework, literacy support including reading and math in a comfortable safe environment where relationships are built “one child at a time”. There are children just waiting to meet you. Just come and visit and see the difference you can make in a child’s life, once a week, or once a month.
Should the start time not be conducive to your arrival, please don’t despair. We have need for volunteers after our weekly children’s devotions and refreshments, so arriving 20 minutes after start time is not a problem. If you are interested in assisting a local school during the school day, please email us to get connected.
